Analytical Study of Quranic Intertextuality in Poetry of Maroof Abdul Majid

One of the subjects of contemporary literary criticism is the intertextuality (Altanas) phenomenonthat generally means taking advantage of an earlier or contemporary text in speech. The poems of Maroof Abdul Majid, the contemporary Shiite Egyptianpoet,are distinguished for this feature. Among existing intertextualities in his poetry, Quranic intertextuality has allocated a considerable proportion to itself.Study, explanation and analysis of Quranic intertextuality in the poems of this Shiite poet and presentation of his various inspirations from Quran are among the purposes of this essay. The poet is inspired from Quranic vocabularies in some of his poems and has taken advantage of the concept and meaning of a verse or verses in Quran in some of his other poems.
